One of the most important things in life is to know the difference between patience & wait. Patience is when you have 99 reasons to cease but you choose that 1 reason to continue. Waiting involves risk as it is based on anticipation. You come up with various opportunities in life but anticipating that this is the last best opportunity or the future opportunities will bring more is the concept of waiting. 

The sole question is how to know if this is the right time? Well,  that depends on the person, his views, his hard work, ability, foresightedness, nature of opportunity and more. Any person should at least develop a characteristic of foresightedness which off course comes with experience and a sense of selecting right opportunity on right time. 

In such cases along with estimate use your instincts which will help you some or other way. Don't just keep waiting for other opportunities for so long that you loose hope. But be patient to handle all crisis. 

If opportunities don't knock the door then, go find them; it may happen they might have lost the way. Be patient but waiting for a chance without action is not patience. Remember the right time is when you make it. Have enough sharpness that can scan the right opportunity for you.
